Animal Repellent

Are you constantly worried about the neighbor's aggressive dog? Do you go hiking in bear country unprepared? Have a coyote problem in your area? Concerned about getting attacked by some stray dog while out for your daily jog or when delivering mail to a neighborhood? If you said yes to any of these, you need animal repellent.

Self-defense is not restricted solely to human assailants. There will be times in your life when you may need protection from animals as well. There are specially formulated pepper sprays for animals like dogs and bears. While regular pepper spray may work, it is generally not as effective as the spray designed specifically for use against animals. Non-human animals like dogs and bears do not have tear ducts and the same amount of sensitivity like humans do. As a result, animal repellent pepper sprays tend to have higher concentrations of OC (oleoresin capsicum) and pepper. They are EPA-approved and cause no permanent damage.

There are also devices that have been developed to emit sound waves in order to repel dogs and cats. The sound waves cannot be heard by humans due to the low frequency, but non-human animals have much more sensitive hearing than we do. This low level noise is uncomfortable and helps to repel them.

Besides animal-based pepper sprays and sound wave emitters, stun guns work extremely well at deterring animals as well. The loud noise and visible sparks coming from a stun gun are usually enough to repel most animals.

WARNING: Animal repellent sprays are NOT designed for use on humans. Using them on other persons may result in a fine or criminal charge.

Animal repellent sprays are legal in all 50 states of the U.S.
